Freelance = Free Lance

Greetings and Salutations, Good People of Industry.  As will be revealed in these pages, I really like working with words to make things happen.  I especially like it when a word reveals itself to have a surprising and dramatic past.  Take for instance: Freelance.  Currently, I'm "freelancing" and it's all sunshine, jellybeans and unicorns.  Producing copy for exciting and diverse projects for great clients with interesting objectives.  Good times.  Yet...If you dig a little deeper, and get all etymological about it, all of a sudden I'm up to wicked warfaring for whomever will pay me.  Ruthless! Yeah! That's me: Wicked word warfaring.  I'm ok with that, too.

Freelance
Definition -
1: a.  usually free lance :  a mercenary soldier especially of the Middle Ages
    b.  person who acts independently without being affiliated with or authorized by an organization
2:  a person who pursues a profession without a long-term commitment to any one employer

Using my words

Oh Hi.  Updatery happening. After many years of using my words to make complicated and/or ambitious things happen for complicated and/or ambitious groups of people (Rock bands, for instance), I've switched things up big time and have been using my words for WRITING.  Might seem an curious distinction, but it's a distinction nonetheless. I used to be a professional project manager with strong writing skills.  NOW I'm a professional writer with strong project management skills.  SEE?  See how that's radically different?

You are probably reading this because you are considering giving me money to write things for you, and need to know if a) I am good at it, b) Other people think I'm good at it, c) I've actually done it, and d) I can spell.  Possibly - e) All of the above.  The correct selection is "e) All of the above".  SEE?  See how helpful I am?  Read on, enjoy, and remember - I am professional, helpful and I use my words.  You like that about me.
